Grunsah wants autonomous League

King Faisal president Alhaji Grunsah wants the body that runs the Glo Premier League to become autonomous from the Ghana Football Association.

The Professional League Board which is a wing of the Ghana Football Association currently runs the 16-club top tier in Ghana but Grunsah says the top flight clubs must have better control over the running of their club away from the influence of the football association.

“Everywhere in Spain, In England and in South Africa the body that manages the League on the day to day basis is independent of the football association so I don’t understand why we can’t do that here,” he said.

“We need a body with a representative from each of the sixteen clubs so the various clubs will be responsible for their own decisions and take a more hands on approach to the running of the League.”

Grunsah says with the GFA still influential in the affairs of the PLB, those clubs owned by FA bosses are could have undue influence in major decisions that goes to affect the results on the field.

Grunsah’s club have been in fine form this season and are second on the log ten points behind leaders Hearts of Oak.
