KICKOFF PLEDGES
DEAR BAFANA
You are proud warriors of the beautiful rainbow nation whose gold and green blood flows in my veins. You are courageous men who, with my continued support, will undoubtedly dazzle the rest of the world with your magnificent display.
Soldiers of the beautiful game who, with the sound of my vuvuzela in the background, will continue to march to the war called the 2010 Fifa World Cup to reclaim glory. Here is my unconditional support for you. Never forget that I am behind you every step of the way. If you do, let me know so that I can remind you, but I won't let you forget.

This is the only World Cup that we may have in our lifetime so it's good that we support Bafana Bafana. Players, I know there is a lot of pressure on you, not only from the supporters, but also us former players. We want to see you do much better than what you have done so far, we believe in you. We should at least target the second round to make the country proud by going that extra mile. I'm positive that the team selected to play in the Finals will represent the country with pride and play their hearts out.
We did it in 1996 and we can do it in 2010. I wish you all the best. You are there for the country and the country is there for you!

It's time to put differences aside and rally behind our national soccer team. Being a patriotic South African, I hereby pledge my loyal and unconditional support to the Bafana Bafana team. I want to say to them, go out there and give it your best. This will be the first time the Fifa World Cup will played on the African soil and we the Mzansi people are fortunate to be part of that history. Bafana you made us proud in1996. Do it again for the nation, but this time on the world stage. Good luck boys.

To the 23 soldiers that will be chosen to represent our nation ...
As you stand in front of a full capacity crowd, with your right hand firmly pressed on your heart, singing our national anthem, feeling a thousand butterflies in your stomach, palms sweating, deafening sound of vuvuzelas and the ever-inspiring 'shosholoza' from the fans, hearing your heart beat louder and louder ...
Take a deep breath, and as your heart beats slower, butterflies disappear and your focus sets in ... most importantly – bear this in mind: Your family, friends, colleagues & the entire country are behind you and support you and believe in you.
Bafana Bafana – seize the moment!
