Siboniso 'Pa' Gaxa, who got his nickname because when he was a child people said he behaved like an adult, started his career with SuperSport United, winning the 2004 SAA Supa 8 Cup, 2005 Absa Cup and 2007/08 Premiership with Matsatsantsa, before a high-profile R4.5-million move to Mamelodi Sundowns in July 2008.

He made the move overseas to Lierse in August 2010, but was released by the club in May 2012 and came back home to Kaizer Chiefs, where he reunited with coach Stuart Baxter, the man who gave him his first international call-up.

Gaxa made a bright start for South Africa as he was chosen as joint-Man of the Match with fellow debutant and club colleague Ricardo Katza after a 2-1 World Cup qualifier win in the Cape Verde Islands in 2005.

He was also named in the Team of the Tournament at the 2009 Confederations Cup, while he has gone on to win over 50 caps.

Before then he played for the Under-20 team at the 2003 African Youth Championships in Burkina Faso, and also won one cap at Under-17 level.
