Josephs captained South Africa to success in the 2007 Cosafa Castle Cup and played all three matches for Bafana Bafana at the 2008 African Nations Cup finals in Ghana after injury to first-choice Rowen Fernandez.

He was named as the Player’s Player of the Season for the 2002/2003 season in the Premier Soccer League, and won Goalkeeper of the Season in the recently completed 2009/10 campaign. He was also a nominee for the 2003/04 Player of the Season award.

He won seven caps at Under-20 level and started his club career at Cape Town Spurs, but won his first international honours at Ajax Cape Town.

He moved to Wits University in mid-2006, but was sold to Orlando Pirates for R2-million in mid-2008.
