Siphiwe Tshabalala's goal in the opening match of the 2010 World Cup will forever be etched into the memories of South African fans.

His classy strike against Mexico was nominated for the Fifa Puskás Award for the best goal of the year, although he lost out to Turkey international Hamit Altintop.

'Shabba' made his Bafana Bafana debut against Egypt in January 2006, while still at Free State Stars.

He has gone on to become a crucial member of the national side, earning his 83rd cap in a 2-1 friendly loss to Zimbabwe on September 10, 2013, while he has nine goals to his credit in international football.

Tshabalala, who has made over 150 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs, was signed by Amakhosi in January 2007 after Ea Lla Koto were relegated from the Premiership at the end of the 2005/06 campaign.
