Fernando Torres spent his entire professional career at Atletico Madrid before moving to Anfield in the summer of 2007.

At the Spanish club he scored 84 La Liga goals in 214 appearances, and became club captain at the tender age of 19.

He became Liverpool's record signing in July 2007, making his competitive debut for the Reds at Villa Park on August 11, 2007. A week later he bagged his first competitive goal for Liverpool when Chelsea visited Anfield.

Torres thrived in his first season with Liverpool, scoring 33 goals in 47 appearances for the Reds - his 24 in the league making him the Premier League's highest scoring foreign debutant ever, and he was voted Liverpool Fans' Player of the Year.

He then made a big money move to EPL rivals Chelsea, yet has struggled to find his former form.

He was a key member of the Spain squad which won the 2008 European Championships, scoring the deciding goal in the Final against Germany, and also won the World Cup and Euro 2012 with La Furia Roja.
