Chiefs confirm broken leg

Chiefs confirm broken leg

Posted: 2009-07-24 16:44

Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic has confirmed that midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane broke his leg in last night’s Vodacom Challenge match against Orlando Pirates.

Letsholonyane had only been on the field for seven minutes when he was cut down by new Bucs midfielder Blaise Kiaku.

“It is very disappointing for Reneilwe,” Vermezovic says. “He was tackled and now has a broken leg.”

Kiaku recently joined Pirates from Congolese club AS Vita.

The tackle was animal like, even the one on Josta before - shocking and disgraceful..
And Damon where was the red card?

michael : 2009-07-24 17:24

Im a Bucs fan but I believe he deserved a Red card that Moegoe. If Pirates really signed that guy then they need to loan him to some team cos haai khona not lebhakabhaka material that one.

Inno: 2009-07-24 17:27

kitkat: 2009-07-24 17:42

oscar: 2009-07-24 18:32

Damon officiating was poor.first he did not give pirates a penalt, secondly chiefs player was roughly tackled in front of him. thats real unacceptable.

Sthoza aka tera : 2009-07-24 18:52

In Dolezar's terms he is a criminal. Damon or Demon is not a big animal don't know how to call him! Soccer is one sport code meant for gentlemen not criminal like this guy from DRC not being Xenophobic but they come up here and climb through the PSL to Europe! I wonder if the players were tested for dopping before the match cause that dude was always late with his tackle, he might have been high! Isonka semihla ngemihla chocked somene last night sharpa Khosi sharpa

kgomotso : 2009-07-24 21:14

its sad that one of the players is injured but lets pray for him and let chiefs press on to their victory. halala amakhosi

mzoe: 2009-07-24 21:57

Fans on this forum are all rightly condemning the player for his tackles and the referee for his leniance. We cannt blame Bucs as they didnt send him to break Chiefs players but a question begs asking : what did Bucs see in him? Another Felix Musasa? Will he come out like Felix Musasa did and apologise for his thuggery traits? Referee Demon has a lot to be ashamed of as he had a chance to send him off 5 minutes later when he plunged into another player the same way, I think it was Josta.

Musa : 2009-07-24 22:24

Kiaku should apologise to Reneilwe & Chiefs for what he did.

potraphobia : 2009-07-24 23:32

I hope that monster doesn't kick Teko in training. As for Yeye I wish you a speedy recovery; my brother! I wouldn't mind if it was Sibeko with a broken leg!

Shawn : 2009-07-25 02:12

Ishmael: 2009-07-25 08:07

PSL DC must take action against this man who act like animal. It took pirates couch to send the man off while the was a ref in the pitch.

Peter: 2009-07-25 08:15

What goes around comes around.Letsholonyane tasted his own medicine.Nobody ever complained about Reneilwe's tackles until he was injured by another player. It was unfortunate for him but he must also check his own tackles. That Pirates player must be suspended for a long time.Sandawana 4 Life.

mlu: 2009-07-25 08:31

The Chiefs coach used hyperbole. The guys leg is not broken. He will be back in three weeks time. Source: Chiefs medical personnel. The xenophobic comments are really insulting to us South Africans. Can we not see it for what it was? A late tackle by a player on another player. Why bring in the nationality issue?

Dikotsi: 2009-07-25 08:32

I'm sure Jerome Damon must be happy now that his dereliction has caused more harm to not only the Player, but to Chiefs, our football and to our own refreeing image.
I'm also sure he is proud about the pay he is going to enjoy for officiating the match. He must be proud of his performance.

Mlu u have a point there. There is no need for Xenophobic utterances..but where the hell did he learn to play football that guy. I mean his brutality is way below acceptable.
WAs it nerves or drugs..one needs to know. A player's leg is broken because of his brutality...an it is not acceptable.

HectaHolla : 2009-07-25 08:58

If Pirates do not get rid Kiaku, as in right now, they shouldnt b surprised 2 go yet anotha season without silver wear. Thr is no excuse for, first a kneehigh tackle on Dladla and ths legbreak on Yeye... MAHAMBE LO'MNTU!!

Sbu: 2009-07-25 09:20

I salute Pirates coach for seeing that this cow is no footballer, As for Jerome'Dakiwe'Damon the less said the better abt his performance, he was a disgrace! Can we imagine if this cow break the players legs that are going to be taking part on the National team? Safa must act now!Send this moron back to Congo!

michael : 2009-07-24 17:24 [ Report ]

which pirates areyou talking about bro Mike. he is definitely pirates material, there is always one in your team like that. or have you forgotten Mgababa Raphahlela and Makgorometsa Sithole?

but that guy desrved a red card. mr ref you should be ashamed wherever you are for allowing such tackle under your watch. he deserved red for the tackle on Dladla and what happened to Reneilwe would have been avoided

Mchangani: 2009-07-25 10:50

first it was Fusasa Felix now this idiot(da so-called blaise kiaku),bt da stupid ref also did nothing as it was clear that this guy deserved to be given marching orders.sies man

losby: 2009-07-25 12:10

I think mr Krol regret the day he signed that idiot and thanx for taking him out coz he already spoilt the game as for my favourite player Teko eish my man beware of that idiot from DRC at training coz Bafana needs you even you didn't perfome the way we expected.Or maybe that idiot was signed by his fellow stupid mickey mouse.

Desmond  : 2009-07-25 12:41

Psl must deal with kiaku accordingly cos its nt a mistake we saw with his other tackles that he is reckless

ndozi : 2009-07-25 15:11

i still cannot believe he lasted 4 90min in a game that ws officiated by one of the top ref

LITHA HANISE : 2009-07-25 16:19
