Voda fans aim for vuvuzela record

Critics of the vuvuzela should stay away from the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium tomorrow night.

300 fans will be blowing their plastic horns for a full 30 seconds simultaneously three minutes before the kick-off of the Vodacom Challenge clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, in an attempt to break a Guinness world record.

The world record attempt will be monitored by Guinness World Records (GWR) adjudicator Rob Malloy, who will fly into the country from GWR head office in London.

The first 20 000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a complementary limited edition Vodacom Guinness World Record vuvuzela.

Disclosing this, Vodacom brand and marketing managing executive Enzo Scarcella says: “Vuvuzelas capture the spirit of soccer in South Africa. We are proud to be associated with this world record attempt endeavour.”
