Tinashe: We've put it behind us

Posted: 2009-07-22 10:41

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha says the 1-0 loss to Manchester City in Durban last night is not really a setback heading into the Derby.

The much-anticipated Vodacom Challenge clash between Bucs and Amakhosi will play itself out at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium tomorrow evening, and Nengomasha feels the team can put the Man City loss behind them.

“I personally feel we went down fighting and, though we lost, we will go into tomorrow’s game still confident. The only problem is that we lost, but overall I think we had a good game, which is good for us as we prepare for the Derby,” he tells KickOff.com.

“Even Benjani [Mwaruwari] chatted to me about our performance last night and he said he was very impressed with our fighting spirit.

“I will be the first one to admit that I’m not fully fit yet, and perhaps that goes for some of my teammates, because it is still early in preseason, but that doesn’t stop us from fighting for this team,” he says.

Another Amakhosi midfielder, David Mathebula, agrees with Nengomasha. “The loss hasn’t dampened the team spirit and as for the derby, I’m confident that we are going to see a very good game tomorrow,” he says.

More lies Mr captain! Yesterday you did a great deal of spoiling our fun by playing dull football. Nengomashe, do the name Andile Jali exist to you? Hhe! Hhe! angihleki ngiyalinganisa

Maestro Tinashe, u did great under thos circumstances. I see no reason why u and the crew will not drive past Ghost City. Actually the pressure is not on u and the boys but on the Ghost. Ghosts have to scare living people off, if u are not scared they fade. And in this case Chiefs is not scared.

Message from Sir Bobby Motaung

To all Amakohsi followers, do not despair. Do not allow our last night performance be used into making you believe you are weaker than Pirates. If you looked at our bench last night you will understand the point I am trying to make. Chiefs will never ever disappoint you.

Hehehe, Mr. Nengomasha, keep telling yourself that. Anyway, it was a good performance BUT the lack of goal-mouth activity is worrying. I mean, with a team that is as weak at the back as Man City, you would have expected more shots, plus their goalie is even weaker than Khune. I dunno, I see the Barkaneers taking this one unless Kaizer jnr sits it out.

The Game – I am disappointed by your below comments about Chiefs from the previous article my broer. I still have respect for you my brother but don’t use emotions. You are always against emotional comments on this forum. Keep the Downs flag flying high with integrity and honesty my broer!

Though, don’t confuse this with a love letter, I am straight.

Good and quality players come from anywhere. Those leagues are made though by foreigners and this should be the case in SA. We need serious regulations to ensure that we import quality in our leagues. Like the rules they set in UK/Europe where a player must have played 75% of A class games for the national team for the past 2yrs. We need such rules to ensure quality.

The Game: 2009-07-22 10:50

first: you must win the Absa League Premiership, Second; you have to play in the Caf competitions,,,(sum international scouts do watch sum of the games(semi-finals to finals), third: you must buy players from sum of the well known leagues,(Germany, F.A, Denmark, France,,etc) fourth: don't buy players from Zimbabwe third division,,,Benjani don't even know those cows !!!

To: Sabelo, Mookamedi and Sea robber. Guys we must not speak like immature adults. It is not typical of AMABHAKANIYA to make noise before the game. Let us wait for the boys to do the talking in the field of play. Anyway we don't know if Krol wants to win this game or not (that will be determined by his inclusion or exclusion of Seema in the team because Thwala cannot afford to baby-sit Seema). The fact that we have not lost to Chiefs or play a draw with them since Krol arrived is in the archives now. Chiefs are as dangerous as they use to be for many years. Complacency is not needed. Yes on paper Bucs have quality than Chiefs since Chiefs have only Khune or Tshabalala as stars. The history of the derby has proven that the team that enters the field as underdogs end up as winners always. Remember 4 November 1990 when Chiefs were favourites and they ended up losing 5-1 (Sithole 1(), Makhanya (1), Moloi (1), Rod Anley (2), Thindwa (1)to Pirates, remember the Rothmans Cup of 1998 when Bucs were favourites and lost 3-1 (Ndlanya 2, Bachelor (1) and Ngake (1)to Chiefs, remember Bobsave SuperBowl semi-final of 1996 when Chiefs were favourites and lost 4-1 to Bucs through Jerry Sikhosana (3), Mkhalele (1) and David Modise (1).

Pirates might have won the game against city but let us admit guys it was a boring game with some lucky break they had.

Chiefs game against city last night was good game to watch and it was flowing well.

As for you sabelo, I understand cos you wish pirates to beat chieafs tomorrow, it wont happen

Mookamedi, pirates wont beat chiefs with that magine and and pirates wont win

Brokefan, I agree with you, chiefs have direction when they play, the only thing they have to do is covvect the chances they are ccreating

I still say Chiefs will never beat Pirates anytime soon and I agree with you that Chiefs still has a lot to work on. However, I am surprised that you even go for Pirates. That also proves that you hate Chiefs more than you hate Pirates? Hehehehe

However, Chiefs did not play as bad as you guys say it did. The only difference is their application in attack that worried me the most. They were very slow and like I said, if City were clever, they would have scored many goals against Chiefs.

If the attitude changes by tomorrow, then we might see a different ball game

We are not going to remind you of the reason why we did not participate in the Continental games. In case u 4got your very own jealous Caf put sanctions on Chiefs after winning the prestigious African Cup Winners Cup in 2002. As champions we were denied the opportunity to defend that trophy. They wanted us to go to an unsafe [at that time] Madagascar knowing very well we could lose our lives. After been given such treatment, we lost hope in Africa.

To be honest broer,,I just hate Chiefs fans especially those who are part of the media,,,they are personal on their comments/views, unprofessional and yet feed us with invalid and unfair information (biased and prejudice)---I don't like Pirates that much but I hate English Premiership (their style, football approach and recent their racist and arrogant remarks and comments) but I was very, very pissed off with Kaizer Chiefs fans who were jealous of Pirates victory (so I think as a South African sokka loving individual Pirates won't mind my support in this competition)...and for Chiefs that was unfair broer,,,I heard one of these Chiefs editors has published an article...Chiefs will play their weakest team tomorrow, why I don't know-that's basicly his opinion (Mr Editor),,and Disco: I understand/know your take on football, your knowledge and valid information you always share with us (free of charge) but I have a right to respond to what I perceive as not right in any way,,,maybe letting out my frustration re: what you said about Pirates victory is just appropriate......it not I'm Sorry:

Pirates’ key players
Andile Jali: Given the free role, the Benedict Vilakazi look-alike former Pretoria University player could trouble Amakhosi on the night and in more derbies to come.

Phenyo Mongala: He announced his arrival with a brilliant curler against City. He also gave Chiefs skipper Jimmy Tau a torrid time in the Nedbank Cup while turning out for Pretoria University last season. If Krol uses that type of mind game in this game, it could pay dividends.

Chiefs’ key players
Knowledge Musona: Striker Musona has the advantage of speed. If he doesn’t become injury-prone, the goal ace’s stay at Amakhosi could be pleasant. This may be a decent outing for him against Pirates.

Mthokozisi Yende: AmaTuks former player, who has missed all three of Chiefs’ pre-season games. A great passer of the ball and midfield genius, what better team to make his mark against than Bucs.

The coach must substitute Kaizer Junior when he is not performing. Junioir should have scored twice and created two other goals if he was a clinical striker, but he failed the team because of his lack of composure. And the coach let the fans downs by not replacing him by El Buddha! Good luck captain for the derby. Khosi 4 Life

BACK TO THE ARTICLE; Tomorrow is the big one: hope it's not boring,,,the game will be won in the middle of the park....I think Chiefs must have Nale coming from the middle,,bring in Shabba on the left hand side of the field,,,to have those crosses and width cos Nengomashe though he can be an offensive player too,,,would yield negative results tomorrow if he pushes foward too much,,,,on the new sensation Punch, he must forget about going foward unless he can enough umf of matching the ever running Mabalane....on the defense (that's where the problems will be) both teams (to be honest) are shaky at the back,,,Junior should he play: Boy you bury those chances,,,I'm not sure about Pirates plan tomorrow,,with the number of players they've got it's hard to even figure out the first eleven...

...should they bring in Mashego,,,with that Pires guy then it's high jump for Chiefs...these games don even need a coach to motivate,,,anticipating an open game with lots, and lots of skills too,,,,if they play these players can shine to the occassion...Mhlongo, Mthembu S,Mathebula,Jose, Arthur Zwane, Mashego.....Shapa Soweto Giants Shapa...
