Robinho expected in SA

Manchester City have confirmed that Robinho will be coming to South Africa for the 2009 Vodacom Challenge … but he will only jet in ahead of the Final on July 25.

The Brazilian helped his country to victory at the recently completed Confederations Cup, which finished on June 28, and then also got married to his childhood sweetheart on Saturday.

He will be allowed to have a honeymoon before joining the club in South Africa ahead of the Vodacom Challenge Final at Loftus Stadium in Tshwane.

City chairman Garry Cooke confirmed the news on MetroFM on Monday evening, at the same time announcing that the club had finalised deals with former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez and Arsenal hitman Emmanuel Adebayor.

Cooke would not, however, commit on whether the duo would be coming to South Africa, though he hinted that City manager Mark Hughes would like to bring his full squad.

Bashin: 2009-07-14 08:25

THIS STORY DOES NOT MAKE SENSE AT ALL, THIS IS ALL SPECULATIONS AND THE HEADLINE DOES NOT CORRESPOND WITH THE STORY.

THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT ALL THESE GUYS DON'T COME.

BrokeFan: 2009-07-14 08:31

Strategically Man City is poor in terms of their signings. They are looking for big names but not filling the necessary positions. This is one indication they will never make it to top 4.

Benjamin: 2009-07-14 08:31

According to Garry Cooke on Metro FM yesterday, Robinho will feature in the final. As for Tevez and Adebayor he didnt confirm or deny that they will be here on saturday. Lets wait and see.Dont rule out the possibility of John Terry as well.Iyo!

and SABC they use KickOff's article on sum of their programmes viz Coca Cola Zone...KickOff is the best and there's still a room of improvement but they are on the right track,,,,,back to the article: Man City is doing jus lyk Chelsea and I believe it worked for them (the latter) so why not buy house while sum guys are buildig them,,,,nature allows no imbalance there are teams who groom and believe in growth but that's their choice,,too: Madrid has been using their buying power from the time I knew Hiero:

Guys have u seen Man U signings? Except for Owen. These team is known for signing players that are still hungry to make names for themselves hence they get best results every season. Man City have to strenthen its defence, in the middle I do not see much of the problem, upfront Tavez will do well with Robino plus they have Cruz. I dont see a need for Eto or Adebayor

Kali: 2009-07-14 10:15

Brokefan, a well-known Chiefs fan who until recently anchored a popular soccer show on TV, has allegedly started a campaign against Adebayor's move to Manchester City. Known for his hatred for Mr Santana, the coach of bafana bafana, Brokefan has included Mark Hughes in his campaign of vitriol, simply because he is aware manchester City have a 99% chance of beating his beloved Kaizer Chiefs. Ah, how the mighty have fallen....

lol, I had to laugh at some of the Brazilians turning their jerseys back to front at the confed cup final Robinho, Elano etc haha hope they take that culture with them as well as the vuvu lol
