Polokwane City coach Jozef Vukusic says they are not thinking about the Absa Premiership title

Posted: 15 March 2019 Time: 18:40

Polokwane City have a mathematical chance of winning the Absa Premiership title, but coach Jozef Vukusic says they are not thinking about that.

Sixth-placed Rise and Shine would move to within four points of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns if they were to get a victory against Cape Town City in the Mother City tonight (20h00).  Rise and Shine’s target is to finish in the top eight.

"No we don't discuss about that We have our target from start of the league until end of the league is still there. So we follow all that, that is for us at the moment important. Top eight, first from the start it's been like that, we follow that then it's fine. We don't have suspended players, Musonda is injured so that is only what we miss in this game."

Vukusic says he is aware that Benni McCarthy’s side have the ability to come from behind, showing how much fighting spirit they have.

"I know, of course, first goal is very important. They've done it two games [against Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns], but today it will be open I think for 90 minutes.

“We know their players how they play, but that is in every game like that. Our target, we will be prepared for the game, physically they must be there because they have good tactically fast players, So that is the first, and ja mental strength is important as well in such a game.”
