Black Leopards coach Dylan Kerr says Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Thokozani Sekotlong needs to wait his turn to play, as he is currently happy with the performances of first choice striker Mwape Musonda.

Sekotlong joined Leopards in the final week of the January transfer window after struggling to break into the starting line-up at Sundowns in the first half of the season.

The former Free State Stars and University of Pretoria player has played four matches in all competitions since joining Lidoda Duvha, three of them as a substitute.

"He is okay, but I mean Musonda is scoring goals, so TK and everybody that is in the squad will need to wait for the opportunity,"

"They’ve got to take the opportunity, grab it with both hands and make sure as I said to them every day 'you wear that jersey, to keep that jersey the only thing you can do is keep playing well and winning games. If you performing you keep the jersey’."

Leopards will play against Chippa United this afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium, needing a win to enhance their chances of surviving at the end of the season.

"Everybody is desperate at this time of the season," added Kerr

"Everybody is the same in the league, everybody is fighting for points.

"Preparations are as we do every day, preparations are good, training is good, players are good, spirits are high, you know everything has ticked the boxes.

"You know we haven't got time to build, we got to do things for the now.

"I'm not worried about Chippa, my worry is on Black Leopards when we get on the field to get three points.

"It's all about the mental toughness. It's not about what people are doing or what people want to do, it's all about what we do."
