AmaZulu will fix defensive problems says Cavin Johnson

Posted: 4 March 2019 Time: 14:19

AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson won't panic despite his team losing back-to-back games and conceding six goals in two matches.

Usuthu failed to protect their lead again as they lost 2-1 away to Maritzburg United on Friday night, once again allowing an opponent to come from behind.

After the game Johnson admitted mistakes were made on the night and assured supporters they will fix their defensive problems.

"We will fix the problem, it won't be easy but I believe as a team we will find a solution," Johnson said.

"We knew it was gonna be a huge fight, they [Maritzburg] had to throw everything at us because of their situation, we then couldn't control the ball better, especially passing."

Johnson was asked if he is worried about ending up not qualifying for the top eight and slipping further down on the log.

"We've always been in that position, there's no pressure on us," he said. "If you're not on top of the log, you're down, our job is to fix our problems and we will do so."

Usuthu host title contenders Bidvest Wits on Saturday at King Zwelithini Stadium in their next league match.
