Khuliso Mudau defends himself after two red cards in a row

Black Leopards midfielder Khuliso 'Sailor' Mudau says he can't change the way he plays after receiving his second red card in a row against Highlands Park.

The 23-year-old from Musina has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately after getting sent off again in his first match back after a two-match suspension.

The first red card he got was against Bloemfontein Celtic on February 3, and both dismissals were for reckless challenges.

"I'm not rough," Mudau tells KickOff.com. "It's just that you won't change the referees' thinking. The other decisions taken by the referees were not right, even the Highlands Park one was wrong because it was a 50/50 challenge.

"The first yellow card I didn't even kick the guy, he just decided to scream. Yes in the first game I was wrong to hit the guy, even though it was not my intention.

"You know in football you sometimes have to use your hands to guide. I'm not a rough player but it seems the referees don't understand me, I don't know. I won't change the way I play because it will cause my performance to drop.

"I will just have to pull out of some challenges, what can I do? Everyone at the club told me I mustn't worry because such things happen in football."

Lidoda Duvha official Tshifiwa 'Chief' Thidiela says he doesn't think there will be any action taken by the club for the player's actions.

"No, it depends how he got them, isn't it so? It will depend on the coaches and the technical team and everyone obviously to say... they have to check first what happened. I don't think a person goes out of his way to say he wants a red," Chief explains.

Head coach Kerr says the matter will be dealt with internally.

"Sailor? No, that's not for everybody," he adds. "That's something that will be dealt with in the club. As a club we'll discuss it, it's nobody's business."
