Creating scoring chances in South Africa is not a problem but things get tough when it comes to converting them, and Chippa United coach Clinton Larsen can relate.
The Chilli Boys have not lost under Larsen and have been playing some impressive football, yet despite that the former Golden Arrows coach still believes they have not reached their best.
Chippa have conceded only two goals in their last six matches.
"I'm very impressed with the boys, they are playing well especially in defence, we are doing very well but I feel we are not patient enough in the last third," Larsen said after their 1-1 draw against his former side on Friday night.
"There are moments where we should be punishing teams but we tend to force things even when we see there's no space," he explained.
Larsen also praised his senior players for their consistency since he took over in January.
"I'm very happy with the team. If you look at Thabo Rakhale and Kurt Lentjies they are giving their best, then you have [Tercious] Malepe, [Gladwin] Shitolo and the rest of the players who are also on top [form]," he added.
Larsen wants to make sure opponents feel the pressure whenever they travel to Port Elizabeth and wants the team to keep up their performances to qualify for the top eight.
"We've been dominant at home, we are hoping to keep it like that," he continued. "We want a MTN8 spot and to achieve that we will have to be fearless in our home games, make it hard for our opponents."
