Cape Umoya United coach Dominic Isaacs impressed with Katlego Otladisa

Cape Umoya United coach Dominic Isaacs says his young starlet Katlego Otladisa is still finding his feet with the National First Division newbies.

The 22-year-old is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns and has played two games thus far. Otladisa did not get any first team action for Sundowns in the first half of the season, and is now playing catch up with players who are levels above him in terms of match fitness.

Isaacs has been impressed Otladisa and pointed out that he sees a bright future for the talented youngster.

“He’s learning very quickly, but has a lot to learn at the same time as well,” Isaacs told KickOff.com.

“He needs to understand what his role is and what to do when we’re not in possession of the ball. But he is very skillful and tricky on the ball. He is a fine player with a bright future. After all he comes from Sundowns and one expects nothing less from their quality,” said the former Kaizer Chiefs player.

Isaacs is doing a great job with Umoya in the National First Division, moving them from the drop zone up to 13th place since taking over in November.

The club is also in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals, where they’ll face fellow NFD side TS Galaxy. Umoya will host Galaxy at home.

“I think it was key for us to have a home draw,” Isaacs said. “But that is also no guarantees. Yes, we have never lost to them but history counts for nothing.

“Even though the league is our bread and butter we are giving it a go in this competition,” Isaacs highlighted.

“They have a good passing game and like to shift you around in negative positions you know. But we’ll be ready for them and we need to take advantage from our home ground,” Isaacs concluded.
