After holding Mamelodi Sundowns to a draw, Polokwane City coach Jozef Vukusic is targeting another good result against Kaizer Chief on Saturday.
City played to a 1-1 draw with Sundowns at Loftus Stadium in midweek to help them maintain their top-eight position on the Absa Premiership log.
Rise and Shine are now looking forward to keeping up the same level of performance when they host Amakhosi at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.
Vukusic believes their draw against The Brazilians will give his boys confidence they can do the same or even better when they face Amakhosi.
"It was important [to play well] after the game [3-1 defeat] against Maritzburg United. We had to wait for long [12 days] for this game," said Vukusic.
"They needed a win and so I am happy for the confidence going to our next match [against Chiefs]. This was a morale-booster and I hope we progress with the same performance against our next opponents."
The Serbian coach said his objective is to keep Polokwane City in the top eight this season.
"From the first moment until the last moment is the top eight [target]. We said at the start of the season, I believe in this team. It has always been like that and it has to stay like that. It won't be easy because the other teams are also fighting for a top-eight position," he explained.
Rise and Shine have been without last season's top scorer Rodney Ramagalela since the beginning of the year, but Vukusic says his team is not missing the presence of the experienced striker.
"For me, I don't deal with that question. The player is not training with us for a long time. I am taking it like any other player that is injured or serving suspension. I deal with players that I can use," Vukusic said.
"He didn't score [that] many goals that we miss his goals [now]. This season he only scored two goals."
