Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Toni Silva has been singled out by his new manager at Ittihad of Alexandria after their 3-0 Arab Championship defeat to Saudi giants Al-Hilal.
Silva departed Masandawana last month for the Egyptian Premier League side after failing to establish himself in the first XI under manager Pitso Mosimane.
However, his exit came with some strong words in which he slated the former Bafana Bafana head coach for his ill-fated stint in Tshwane.
And after a relatively positive start to life in Egypt with two assists in three league outings, a spurned opportunity from the technically gifted attacker was attributed for their first-leg defeat in the Arab Championship quarter-finals.
"If Toni Silva had scored his one-on-one chance, the game would have completely changed," Toulan said after the game, as per KingFut.
"When you face a big team like Al Hilal, you have to score every chance you get or you will regret it.
"I spoke before the game and said that Al Hilal have very special type of players, everyone knows Al Hilal’s worth."
The Egyptian side need to score four unanswered goals or more against the record 15-time Saudi champions to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
