New Highlands Park midfielder Enocent Mkhabela does not look back at his Kaizer Chiefs spell with disappointment, despite not playing an official game for the Soweto giants.

Mkhabela was signed by Amakhosi on a free transfer from SuperSport United at the start of the 2016/17 season, with the likes of Sibusiso Khumalo, Edmore Chirambadare and Michelle Katsvairo.

Within six months, Mkhabela was sent out on loan to Platinum Stars without even kicking a ball in a competitive match, and that was it in terms of his career at the club.

He stayed with Stars when his loan deal expired as Chiefs were not keen on having him back at Naturena.

"I feel I did have a fair chance, but unfortunately I can’t field myself. For me it was a fair chance because I trained with the team but I was not lucky to be in an official game," Mkhabela tells

"Then I got injured and I was doing my rehab. Then Platinum Stars asked for my services and I was there for the second round of the season. I helped them because they were fighting relegation.

"I was not disappointed. You know, in life you must take out the positives so that you can move forward. I took the positives and I would say I’ve learnt a lot, that’s why I am the person I am today."
