Kaizer Chiefs move Highlands Park fixture away from FNB Stadium

Posted: 13 February 2019 Time: 14:40

Kaizer Chiefs have announced a venue change for their upcoming Absa Premiership fixture against Highlands Park next month.

The clash was initially scheduled for FNB Stadium on March 2, but Amakhosi have decided to take the Lions of the North on a trip to Durban instead.

The club announced the change on Tuesday after receiving the go-ahead from the PSL.

The exact reason for the change has yet to be confirmed but could be due to their abysmal record in Soweto this season.

The Glamour Boys have yet to register a victory at their traditional home ground since the arrival of Ernst Middendorp while winning just three of their 14 games at the 2010 FIFA World Cup final venue since August.

Before then, however, Chiefs face a trip to Port Elizabeth to face The Magic FC in their Nedbank Cup Last 16 tie this Sunday and then visit Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on February 23.
