In his first interview in his new coaching role at AmaZulu, having returned from a short spell with the Team of Choice, Khenyeza opened up about the new challenge in his career.

"I've learned a lot during my short spell at Maritzburg United. Muhsin is a very good educator and now I'm willing to learn more about coaching," he said.

Khenyeza was asked if he had any regrets after he left Usuthu for Maritzburg and then only stayed one month before returning to AmaZulu.

"I don't have regrets in life, I'm very positive about decisions I make in my career. I'm happy to be back at Usuthu and it will help me a lot in the long run," Khenyeza said.

"I spoke to Maritzburg as they wanted me to stay but I had to look at the bigger picture on my progress in my new role in football."

The former striker also revealed his passion for developing players, especially in KwaZulu-Natal, and knows he will need to work hard to make a successful transition from player to coach.

"When Real Kings were promoted to the National First Division from ABC Motsepe, I was helping them and other teams in the province," he recalled.

"Don't think if you were a good player you can be a good coach, things have changed. Fortunately enough for me, I observe a lot and football is my life. I had to make a lot of sacrifices for this game."
