Pitso Mosimane questions PSL DC timing, possible docked points

Posted: 7 February 2019 Time: 19:21

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has questioned the PSL's timing of handling disciplinary cases that date back to last season.

Sundowns have been hauled before the PSL's Disciplinary Committee and are charged with fielding an ineligible player during their league match against Bidvest Wits earlier this season.

The Brazilians made a last-minute change to their team sheet and brought in Wayne Arendse for Thapelo Morena, who suffered an illness before the start of the game.

Initially Arendse was in the stands before being recalled to start the match in place of Morena, an action that could result in the club being docked points and/or hit with a hefty fine.

Mosimane has also claimed he was called before the game against AmaZulu a few weeks ago and told to report to the PSL offices for a disciplinary case that happened last season.

"Here we go again," said Mosimane after Wednesday's 3-0 win over Black Leopards.

"Before the AmaZulu game, Friday night at 10, I was still at the league and also I had my DC [hearing]. There was also a case of something that happened when Percy Tau was still playing football for Mamelodi Sundowns. Eric Tinkler was still coach of SuperSport United...

"I don't know what I said. I am not saying I should have said that or not, but why should it be before the AmaZulu game? The timing hey, it's another story.

"Why the story now that we [might be] docked points just before the Black Leopards game? Where has everybody been? Last season? Are we that busy? What's happening? I don't know.

"I spent two years not going there. I have been a good boy for some time and now I have been brought back."
