Mothobi Mvala wants to join one of PSL 'big three' clubs

Posted: 5 February 2019 Time: 13:05

Highlands Park midfielder Mothobi Mvala is willing to join one of the 'big three' in South Africa but only if he gets the blessing of his club.

There has been huge interest in Mvala, who is enjoying a good season in the Absa Premiership and is one of the league's top scorers.

Lions of the North coach Owen da Gama recently said that the club turned down a R10-million offer from one of the big teams for Mvala's services.

Mvala, who has netted seven goals this season in the league, said he is ready to move.

"It shows that I'm playing well and it gives me confidence to do more work but there is nothing more I can do because I'm still contracted to Highlands Park," Mvala responded when asked his thoughts on the interest shown in him.

"If the club is not willing to let me go there is nothing I can do, so my focus is on Highlands Park at the moment.

"It all depends on the club because I'm contracted to them. If they say Mothobi I can go, I will definitely go. If they say stay there is nothing I can do because I'm still contracted to them and I have to honour my contract."

Mvala added that joining one of the big teams would be a big step in his career as he looks to continue to prove himself.

"It will be a good move for me if I can join one of the big teams. It is a dream of every player to play for one of the big teams," he said.

"But if it doesn't happen there is nothing I can do."
