AS Monaco wonderkid surpasses manager Thierry Henry and Kylian Mbappe as youngest ever debutant

AS Monaco wonderkid Robert Navarro has become the youngest ever debutant for the Ligue 1 side surpassing Kylian Mbappe and current manager Thierry Henry.

While Henry enjoyed an iconic career in Europe and Mbappe appears to be on the way to eclipsing those feats, Navarro has been tipped for a similar impact.

The Spaniard joined the Ligue 1 side on a free transfer last year from FC Barcelona, rejecting professional terms with the Blaugrana and Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in order to develop further in France.

Often regarded as one of the finest prospects of La Masia in recent memory, the attacking midfielder made his first-team bow in the Coupe de France last week in the 1-0 victory over Canet Roussillon.

"Very happy for my official debut as a professional with him @AS_Monaco, a dream fulfilled, thanks for the confidence to the whole club, and especially to my family and friends," Navarro wrote on Twitter.

AS Monaco record youngest debutants:

  • Roberto Navarro 16 and eight months
  • Pietro Pellegri 16 and 10 months
  • Kylian Mbappé 16 and 11 months (Now at PSG)
  • Willem Geubbels 17 and two days
  • Thierry Henry 17 and 14 days (Current manager)
