Maritzburg United boss Farook Kadodia says the club will take action against Yannick Zakri for being absent without leave.
New Maritzburg coach Muhsin Ertugral on Sunday revealed the Ivorian attacker has gone AWOL with the club in a fight for survival at the bottom of the Absa Premiership standings.
"We were expecting him to return this past weekend," Kadodia says when asked for an update on Zakri's situation.
"When he comes back, definitely we will have a hearing like any company does to someone who has done such."
Kadodia says Zakri's agent told them his client was having visa issues.
"We heard he was struggling with his visa, but we will get the whole story, then we will take it from there."
The 27-year-old Zakri joined the Team of Choice in August 2018 from league champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Meanwhile, Kadodia revealed United will soon announce the signing of a striker and winger.
"We will make an announcement this week or the next one," Kadodia says.
"We've signed two players, a striker and winger.
"I can't give you names, just wait for the statement."
