Bidvest Wits receive timely boost ahead of Kaizer Chiefs clash

Posted: 9 January 2019 Time: 12:31

Bidvest Wits have been boosted by the timely return of Thulani Hlatshwayo, S'fiso Hlanti and Thabang Monare ahead of Kaizer Chiefs' visit.

Hlanti and Monare are back after being suspended for the Clever Boys' trip to Free State Stars over the weekend, while Hlatshwayo has recovered from a knock to the head that has kept him out since mid-December.

The Absa Premiership leaders are set to welcome Amakhosi to the Bidvest Stadium in what is expected to be a fiery affair this evening.

Chiefs will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns over the weekend, while Wits are gunning to maintain their five-point lead at the top of the table.

Coach Gavin Hunt now faces a huge headache as the return of their skipper and key defensive members comes as a selection poser ahead of tonight's encounter.

However, this will also leave plenty to ponder for opposing coach Ernst Middendorp as they look to reduce the gap to nine points and rise up the standings from eighth position.

Kick-off of the clash is scheduled for 19h30.
