Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has praised the Premier Soccer League for the support they have showed to the club during their busy schedule due to CAF Champions League obligations.
Sundowns were due to play Polokwane City this evening in the Absa Premiership, but the game has been postponed as Sundowns travelled to Nigeria on Monday to start preparing for their opening Champions League group match against Lobi Stars on Friday night (18h00)
Travelling to Nigeria early gives Sundowns an opportunity to get used to the conditions in the country, to ensure they are well prepared for their clash on Friday.
Mosimane gave the PSL credit for constantly communicating with them about the schedule and shifting matches to accommodate the defending league champions.
“We have been living in this space for the last five years, it’s our life,” Mosimane told Sundowns' website.
“There’s no excuse about the workload. I must give the PSL credit. They have been communicating with us, even during the week and at night to try and help us to carry the flag of the country. They have shifted games to accommodate us. That’s why we have around 32 games to play from now until May. There’s no break in between.”
