Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele says he has received CEO Morgan Mammila’s resignation letter and has wished him well for his future endeavours.
Mammila, who has been with Baroka since their days in the National First Division, is reportedly on his way to Chippa United, who have not had a CEO since parting ways with Peter Koutroulis late last year.
Mammila has been responsible for recruiting players and coaches at the Limpopo outfit and will no doubt be missed by the club for the work he has done.
“Yes, it’s true,” Mphahlele told KickOff.com, when asked if Mammila has resigned.
“He got an offer somewhere, he got a much improved offer somewhere. He must work for his future. I’ve got his letter and I am still going to speak to him, but I wish him luck.”
Mphahlele admits losing Mammila will affect the team, but hopes to find a replacement as soon as possible.
“Of course, it’s like losing one of your family members. There’s no way it won’t affect us. But you find that when he leaves the team someone [else] will come. It’s part of football,” said Mphahlele.
