Free State Stars defender Sifiso Mbhele is still waiting for the club to offer him a new contract as his current deal is set to expire at the end of June.
Mbhele, who joined Ea Lla Koto in 2015 from Limpopo outfit Baroka FC, has struggled for regular game-time, making six appearances in all competitions this season.
He started Ea Lla Koto’s match against Bidvest Wits under new coach Nikola Kavazovic on Saturday and will be hoping for more opportunities to make an impression before the end of the season.
Mbhele's agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, of Rush Hour Sports Management, has confirmed to KickOff.com that negotiations between the two parties haven't started yet.
“Sifiso Mbele's contract ends in June,” Mulovhedzi says.
“We have not yet started talking but it ends in June. So which means if there's nothing happening with him we will look further.”
According to Mulovhedzi, Mbhele is happy at Stars and would jump at the opportunity to extend his stay with the reigning Nedbank Cup champions.
“We are waiting for them to tell us what is their plan with Sifiso. Then if nothing comes up we will look for other teams, but he is happy. He wants to stay at Free State Stars."
