Bidvest Wits want Sinethemba Jantjie to join the club now from Free State Stars

Posted: 3 January 2019 Time: 07:00 has been informed that Bidvest Wits are pushing hard to make Free State Stars winger Sinethemba Jantjie's move to the Students happen in the current transfer window.

On Tuesday the Clever Boys announced that they have signed the midfielder, whose deal with Stars is due to expire in June, on a pre-contract.

The 29-year-old was previously linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to a source, Wits have offered Stars R500 000 to sign the player this month.

"Bidvest are currently speaking to Free State Stars about buying him right now in January," a source told

"They are offering R500 000, half a million. It will be seen if they will accept it or what. If they are not taking it he will leave for free. Wits coach [Gavin Hunt] wants the boy now in January. Everything was finalised yesterday, they are just waiting for the Stars office to reopen, then both parties will meet on Monday. Wits have already sent an email to Stars and they have made their intentions clear that they want the boy to come now."
