Golden Arrows have appointed Steve Komphela as their new coach

Golden Arrows have confirmed Steve Komphela as their coach, following the departure of Clinton Larsen.

Arrows confirmed the departure of Larsen on Thursday, while Komphela handed in his resignation to the Bloemfontein Celtic management on the same day.

Arrows confirmed the appointment of the former Kaizer Chiefs coach with a cheeky tweet saying, “Get your dictionaries out!! Class is in session. We can now confirm that we have appointed Steve Komphela as our new head coach. We welcome him and look forward to the remainder of the season.”

Komphela takes charge of a team currently sitting in 11th place on the Absa Premiership standings, on 16 points after 15 matches. After an impressive first half of the season with Celtic, Arrows will be hoping Komphela can get them into the top eight.

His first match in charge of Arrows will be against KZN rivals and his former side Maritzburg United at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on January 6.
