Sekotlong has been a peripheral figure at Sundowns since his signing from Free State Stars in August 2017, but remains committed to winning the favour of coach Pitso Mosimane.

"Sundowns is a big team and obviously you know there is challenges and competition, and that’s how you learn in football. So it has been a good stay," Sekotlong tells KickOff.com.

"Only 11 players can play, so obviously it is frustrating but also motivation to keep pushing yourself and just patiently wait for the opportunity to come."

Sekotlong accepts that Mosimane will continually strengthen the side by bringing in new players every season.

"I don’t really find it difficult because I feel like it’s my job and it is something I love doing, and the motivation comes naturally. Like I said, my motivation is to improve and eventually get the chance to play.

"It’s a motivation for me in itself being at Sundowns. It means I’m one of the best quality players and that will push myself to get my opportunities, because competition there is really tough.

"It's is one thing you need to respect and understand. That’s what motivates you to be patient, because you know that the quality in the team is so good. If I can get my confidence up, most of the things will come."

Sekotlong insists he does not regret joining the Absa Premiership champions.

"Not at all. I’m focusing on fighting for a place in the team and I won’t tell them I want a loan unless it comes from them. I have to fight for my place in the team."
