Mpumalanga Black Aces have lived up to their promise of giving coach Sammy Troughton a contract extension.
Troughton helped Aces win promotion to the Absa Premiership after taking over from Innocent Mayoyo midway through last season and has been rewarded by a two-year extension.
“We have always said we want to keep Sammy as our coach and we have since exercised our option of keeping him at the club for a further two seasons,” a club spokesman said, adding that they will also hold onto the likes of Lindokuhle Mbatha, Sethjaba Mmuso and Lehumo Itshegetsheng, who have been targeted by other PSL clubs.
“They are not going anywhere. We will be finalising the list of players we want to keep or release as we are presently trying to prepare a strong team for PSL next season.”
