No date for Mmboi hearing yet

No date has yet been set for a League DC hearing involving former Dynamos player Tshifhiwa ‘Milton’ Mmboi who is alleged to have signed a contract extension with the NkowaNkowa-based outfit and also done a deal with Jomo Cosmos.
Disclosing this to KickOff.com this morning PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu says he has not yet received any documentation regarding the issue and in fact, the only information he had on the matter which involves the Zimbabwean left back’s move from the Patrick Malabela-owned club to either Jomo Cosmos (on a free transfer for two years) or Kaizer Chiefs (reportedly a three-year deal that the Amakhosi have still to officially acknowledge) is what he has read in the media.
If a protest does land on Majavu’s desk it promises to be a long, drawn-out messy affair.
"Tshifhiwa’, who graduated from the now defunct Soccer Academy and spent time at Zwigodini Hungry Vultures, Winners Park( Bellville) and Bilika All Stars, was paraded as an Ezenkosi player during the Limpopo Africa Day Tournament during May.
Cosmos disclosed that they had signed the 25-year-old on a ‘free’ as he had told him that his contract with Dynamos had expired.
Chiefs’ former assistant coach Fani Madida and manager Bobby Motaung were at that tournament which Dynamos won.
Speaking to the media at the time, Motaung said: “We are here to look at players as part of our recruitment drive and I can’t say who impressed us today.”
Malabela also told the media at the time that four Absa Premiership clubs had made enquiries about Mmboi who had impressed during the tournament, but he declined to mention their names.
“Milton is still our player and his contract expires in June next year,” he said, countering Cosmos’ claim to signing the player.
“I can’t say anything about Milton joining a Premiership club because we are still to receive an offer for his services.”
When KickOff.com spoke to the player at the time, he said he did not see much action with Dynamos last season, but was he confident of making it in the elite ranks when the PSL kicks off in July.
Now, Mmboi is allegedly claiming that Cosmos’ Andrew Rabutla ‘forced’ him to sign a two-year contract.
Rabutla denies this, saying that Mmboi told them that his contract with Dynamos had expired and that he signed for them willingly after he was given R5000.
Malabela’s statements to the media have also lacked consistency in terms of duration of Mmboi’s contract and whether it was extended by taking up an option after negotiations prior to Cosmos getting his signature.
He merely says that the player was transferred to Chiefs on June 1.
