Marek Hamsik further engraved his legendary status with Napoli by setting an historic record when he took to the pitch in their 1-1 UEFA Champions League draw with Paris Saint-Germain.

On 15th August 2007, a 20-year-old Hamsik made his debut and scored his first goal for the Partenopei against Cesena in the first round of the Coppa Italia.

Fast forward eleven years on, the Slovakia midfielder walked on to the pitch in the Champions League against PSG and amassed his 512th game for the club.

Thus, the inspirational captain became the leading appearance maker in their 92-year history.

The six-time winner of the Slovak Footballer of the Year Award is widely considered one of the club's greatest ever players, with a record of 120 goals and 110 assists.

And his exploits as a goalscoring midfielder remarkably ranks him as the club's all-time record scorer.
