Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lebohang Maboe says he'd love to be in the class of someone as good as Teko Modise, but makes it clear that he is also unique.
Maboe has come into the Sundowns team this season and has already established himself as one of the team's main sources of creativity.
Like Modise - a former Sundowns player - Maboe has good vision and has the ability to dictate the pace of the game. Of course at his age there's still lots of room for improvement, but the former Maritzburg United man is most certainly heading in the right direction.
It's been a fairytale few months for Maboe, who has also become a key member of Stuart Baxter's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers squad.
"I would because 'Dona' is a very good player and he is in a class of his own," Maboe told the media recently.
"I can [be classed in the same level as Modise] and I am beyond that. I am special and unique in my own way. I am with Sundowns and I am looking forward to winning as many trophies as I can with the team."
Sundowns will need something special from Maboe when they face Free State Stars at Loftus Stadium tonight (19h30) as they look to bounce back from the weekend's Telkom Knockout exit.
