Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen targets Free State Stars scalp

Posted: 24 October 2018 Time: 16:00

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen says the top-eight hopefuls are gunning for all three points against Free State Stars tonight.

Ea Lla Koto will host Abafana Bes'thende at Goble Park at 19h30.

All of Stars' three wins this season were at home, while Arrows only recently broke a seven-winless streak with a victory against Absa Premiership newbies Black Leopards.

Last season Stars got the better of Arrows by winning one and drawing one against the KwaZulu-Natal club.

Both mid-table teams were knocked out of the Telkom Knockout Cup on the weekend, but Larsen believes their loss was understandable.

"Ja well, with us it was different because we made 10 changes to the team," Larsen tells KickOff.com.

"Against Baroka we made 10 changes, gave all the boys who have not been playing a run you know. We've got a fresh team now to play Free State Stars. Hopefully that will give us an edge.

"We've got a lot of injuries. So that's the reason and also it is an important league game. So we had to get the balance right in terms of having a competitive team in the league as well as for the cup game.

"All the games against Free State are always tough. I think everybody knows that, especially in Bethlehem.

"So we want to make sure that we get three points. Us being in the top eight it is a priority, and three points will put us there. So it's very important that we go there for three points."
