National First Division side Maccabi FC have announced the signing of former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Ndiviwe Mdabuka.
Mdabuka, who joined the Urban Warriors from Vasco da Gama in 2015, was released by Ajax ahead of the current campaign, despite signing a new three-year deal last year.
The hard-working midfielder scored on debut for Ajax in a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in the 2015 MTN8 quarter-finals, playing every game in their tournament-winning campaign.
A regular under former coaches Roger de Sa and Stanley Menzo, Mdabuka made 24 league starts in his first season and 22 in his second, yet made only 13 starts last season and just three since Muhsin Ertugral took over in January.
The 27-year-old made a total of 80 appearances in all competitions in three years at the club, scoring three goals, yet was released in August before unsuccessfully trialling at Absa Premiership newcomers Highlands Park.
However, the midfielder has finally found a new home after being announced as Maccabi FC’s new signing.
