Orlando Pirates news: Milutin Sredojevic says Abel Mabaso and Asavela Mbekile are fighting for Bucs spot

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic insists new signings Abel Mabaso and Asavela Mbekile are in his plans for this season.

Mabaso and Mbekile are yet to play for Bucs since joining the club in July from Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.

And while Mabaso has already been linked with a return to Chippa when the January transfer window opens, Sredojevic has indicated the pair could soon feature in cup competitions for the Soweto giants.

"The two of them are the same as others, fighting for places," Sredojevic said.

"We are approaching the Telkom Cup, the Champions League and later on the Nedbank Cup. Those are the competitions where we are looking at having them [play] once they satisfy the criteria and standard that we have put in.

"Once they are ready to answer to those demands they will be there."

The Buccaneers look to have recently added Alfred Ndengane to their roster following the defender's departure from Bloemfontein Celtic.
