Cristiano Ronaldo: Juventus forward punishment confirmed after UEFA Champions League red card

Posted: 27 September 2018 Time: 14:00

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo's punishment for the red card against Valencia has been confirmed by UEFA.

Ronaldo received a controversial sending off in his Champions League debut for the Serie A champions.

His straight red offence for his tussle with defender Jeison Murrillo was considered as violent conduct and could've prevented him from playing three games.

However, UEFA have confirmed that Juve's club-record signing will only have to sit out the next fixture against Swiss champions Young Boys.

The 33-year-old will be available to play former club Manchester United next month after Uefa ruled he must serve only a one-match ban for his Champions League red card.

After suggestions that The Bianconeri would appeal the punishment the verdict has now left them without the option

As according to UEFA ruling, a one-game ban is automatic - with no right of appeal.
