Absa Premiership match report SuperSport United v Black Leopards 23 September 2018

Posted: 23 September 2018 Time: 13:03

SuperSport United returned to winning ways with an impressive 4-0 win over Black Leopards in the Absa Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

James Keene grabbed an early lead for Matsatsantsa in the second minute with a brilliant diving header at the near post following a cross, 1-0.

Evans Rusike almost doubled the lead for United in the sixth minute with a header at close range inside the six yard box following a cross from Fagrie Lakay but Leopards shot-stopper King Ndlovu kept his team in the game.

Kaitano Tembo’s charges had the upper hand after 20 minutes although the intensity of the game was slightly going down.

Aubrey Modiba doubled the lead for United in the 33rd minute with a simple tap in into an open net after he was setup by Evans Rusike who raced clear on the left side inside the box.

Lidoda Duvha could not swing the momentum in their favour towards the end of the first stanza and the hosts went into the break with a two-goal cushion.

Leopards were doing enough to get back into the game after the hour-mark but United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams was in top form.

Evans Rusike made it 3-0 for the hosts 20 minutes before time with a low shot inside the box against the run of play.

United were comfortable 15 minutes before time with Tembo already resting key players through substitutions with one eye in the MTN8 Final next weekend.

Keene completed his brace three minutes before time and made it 4-0 for Matsatsantsa after going clear on goal following a counter-attack.
