Baroka FC believe they can trouble Orlando Pirates' leaky defence

Posted: 21 September 2018 Time: 15:00

Baroka FC winger Richard Matloga says they will not go down without a fight in Saturday's Absa Premiership clash against Orlando Pirates.

Bakgaga are not enjoying a great start to the season under new coach Wedson Nyirenda, but remain confident that they can turn things around.

They’ve registered just one victory in their first six matches and believe they can make it two wins when they host the Buccaneers at Peter Mokaba Stadium tomorrow (15h00).

Matloga, who has featured in five of the six matches, says it’s time they make their supporters happy again, regardless of who they facing this weekend.

“It's our game, we just have to make our supporters happy,” he tells

“We have to fight. We have to go there with everything we have, and put it in the game on Saturday. What gives us confidence is that they [Pirates] score but they can't defend their goals. I think to beat Orlando Pirates we just have to score.”

Asked why in most instances it seems like Baroka save their best performances for big clubs such as Pirates, Matloga said: "It's not all about big teams, even small teams we take them serious."

Matloga describes Zambian coach Wedson Nyirenda as an attack minded coach.

"He is a good coach, excellent coach. Coach Nyirenda was a striker [during his playing days], so we attack as a team we defend as a team.”
