Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana is a doubt for the side’s Absa Premiership match against AmaZulu on Sunday.
Kekana has struggled with a dead leg he sustained in the MTN8 semi-final decider against Cape Town City at Lucas Moripe Stadium. It kept him out of the Bafana Bafana squad, as coach Stuart Baxter brought in Kekana’s teammate Tiyani Mabunda as a replacement.
Kekana says he is still busy with his recovery process.
“I have a dead leg. I am coming alright and I am busy with my recovery. I think I am at 60 percent,” Kekana told KickOff.com.
Asked if he will be ready for the match at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday (15h00), Kekana said: “I am not sure.”
Downs coach Pitso Mosimane, however, is not short of options in central midfield, as he boasts arguably the best squad in the PSL.
The likes of Mabunda, Andile Jali, Oupa Manyisa and Lucky Mohomi are ready for action, so he just has to pick the right combination for the clash against Usuthu.
The Brazilians will be determined to get back to winning ways after they were held to a goalless draw by Highlands Park at home in their last league match, played on August 22.
