The false information has since caught the attention of Bucs officials, and the club has alerted their supporters of the possible dangers, insisting that information relating to issues such as trials will only be shared via their official channels.

"We've been informed of fraudulent activity on coach Rhulani’s social media accounts," read a statement from Pirates on Thursday.

"This activity is related to Orlando Pirates trials where participants are being asked for entrance.

"Orlando Pirates will never ask anyone to pay for trial, so if you receive a request like this from anyone please view it as a scam.

"Information regarding the club's activities, especially trials, will be communicated on our official website and social media platforms."
