Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a boost by football governing body FIFA in their battle to register Madagascan international Andriamirado Andrianarimanana.
Amakhosi have been in a lengthy battle with Madagascan side Fosa Juniors over the services of Andrianarimanana, also known as 'Dax', who they've claimed have a running contract.
However, Chiefs have insisted the midfielder does not have a professional contract with the Malagasy FA, while the player himself has claimed his contract ended in June.
The Glamour Boys had then gone to FIFA over Fosa's refusal to issue Dax's clearance, which is needed for his new registeration, after he penned a deal with the PSL outfit.
The football mother body's Players' Status Committee has since ruled in favour of Chiefs, giving the club the green light to register the 27-year-old.
“We feel vindicated and are happy the matter has been resolved. What’s important for us is that the player can now focus on his football and doing well for us,” club football manager Bobby Motaung said in a statement.
With the 2018 COSAFA Cup Player of the Tournament having been in training with the club since last month, coach Giovanni Solinas could now be tempted to hand him his debut against Cape Town City this weekend.
