Rhulani Sidumo shocked by Baroka exit, finds new home at NFD side TS Sporting

Former Baroka winger Rhulani Sidumo has joined National First Division newcomers TS Sporting on a one-year deal.

Sidumo expects to make his debut for the second-tier side against Ajax Cape Town on September 15 after the FIFA international break

"I haven't played. I am still keeping fit and playing more friendlies, but I will play next week against Ajax," Sidumo tells

The former Acornbush United star was released by Bakgaga at the end of last season. He scored one goal and provided an assist in eight games for the Limpopo side.

Sidumo says he was shocked by the club's decision to release him after doing well whenever given a chance.

"I really don't know, even me. I didn't believe it when they say they are terminating [my contract]. Obviously they wouldn't take my story [if I asked for a reason].

"The chairman [Khurishi Mphahlele] there was not aware that I'm leaving. Just the people that are working for him, they take decisions for him."

In May it was widely reported that AmaZulu, Chippa United and Lamontville Golden Arrows were interested in the skilful winger, but he says he wasn't contacted by any of the Absa Premiership trio.

"I don't have agent and it was late for me to get a team, and they didn't call me, so I can't just go to a place where they didn't call me.

"I just want to take my game up and put the team to be in a better position. But by January I want to be fit and not go on December holidays and get a PSL team."

Pressed further on what he thinks worked against him in his first season in the PSL, he says: "I still need to work on my finishing, and I was lacking that small experience."

The 25-year-old right wing admits that the departure of coaches Kgoloko Thobejane and MacDonald Makhubedu made things hard for him at Bakgaga.

"I can say yes, because him and coach MacDonald, they were giving us confidence and [let us] be ourselves."
