Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas is confident of improvement once new signings Lebogang Manyama and Andriamirado Andrianarimanana become available.

Amakhosi have had one of their worst ever starts to a season, having managed just one win in eight matches since Solinas's arrival.

They have yet to register their first league victory in five fixtures, and were this past weekend eliminated from the MTN8 semifinals after failing to score against SuperSport United in their second leg tie.

Asked whether he has established his strongest line-up as yet, the Italian tactician believes the likes of Manyama and Andrianarimanana could still strengthen the team, but insisted he always plays his strongest available line-up for each particular match.

"We still have some very important players that are out, like Lebo Manyama and 'Dax' [Andrianarimanana], who can help us improve," said Solinas.

"So, in my opinion, when Manyama's fitness is okay, when he comes back, we have a good opportunity to improve offensively.

"So, the best 11 was the one for this game [against SuperSport], because every game we try to select the best 11. Okay, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't work – this is football."

Football manager Bobby Motaung provided an update on the progress of Madagascan international Dax, after the Premier Soccer League upon the close of the transfer window confirmed that the midfielder has yet to be registered.

"Dax is still a work in progress. The process of signing him is ongoing and should be resolved soon. We are optimistic that we will conclude the matter,” Motaung said in a club statement.

After the current international break, Chiefs return to action with an Absa Premiership visit to Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium on September 15.

With four points on the board, The Glamour Boys are currently placed 13th on the log, and Solinas will be desperate to get their league campaign on track.
