Stuart Baxter calls up son into Bafana Bafana camp

Posted: 3 September 2018 Time: 09:34

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has roped his son Lee into the upcoming camp to face Libya in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Bafana were dealt a blow with the late withdrawal of goalkeeper coach Andre Arendse last week Thursday, with Baxter opting for his son as a replacement.

Lee is currently head of goalkeeping at Kaizer Chiefs, who he joined in February as a replacement to the late Alex Revoredo.

This will be his first stint with a national team, after coaching spells with Danish first division club Aarhus, Turkish Super Lig side Genclerbirligi and Swedish first-tier outfit AIK Solna.

The 42-year-old former shot-stopper previously worked with his father at Genclerbirligi, where the two spent just two months before being relieved from their duties. They also paired up at SuperSport United.
