Spain's Luis Enrique names first 23-man squad to face England and Croatia in UEFA Nations League

Luis Enrique has named his first squad as Spain manager and his reported feud with Jordi Alba continues, with the FC Barcelona defender and Atletico Madrid's Koke being omitted.

Enrique's first squad for Spain's upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against England and Croatia on September 8 and 11 in London and Elche has brought a few surprises.

There are just two Barcelona players in the squad - Sergi Roberto and Sergio Busquets, while Jordi Alba has been left out entirely.

Napoli defender Raul Albiol makes an unexpected return at 32, while Chelsea's Marcos Alonso and Alvaro Morata earn recalls for their early season form in the Premier League.

Spain squad in full:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea, Kepa, Pau López.

Defender: Dani Carvajal, Cesar Azpilicueta, Raul Albiol, Nacho, Sergio Ramos, Íñigo Martínez, Marcos Alonso, Jose Gayá.

Midfielder: Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto, Rodri, Saúl Niguez, Thiago Alcantara, Dani Ceballos.

Forwards: Isco, Marco Asensio, Alvaro Morata, Diego Costa, Suso, Rodrigo.
