Highlands Park coach Owen da Gama passes on Ndiviwe Mdabuka amid uncertainty over Tendai Ndoro

Former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Ndiviwe Mdabuka has left Highlands Park after failing to win the favour of head coach Owen da Gama.

The 27-year-old trained with the Absa Premiership newcomers with the aim of winning a contract.

However, Da Gama say Mdabuka, who has also been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, was not what they were looking for.

"No, Mdabuka has left already," the former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates coach says.

"It's just that we are looking for a certain kind of player you know, that fits into our style.

"He is a very good player but we are looking for a specific kind of player."

Asked about Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro, who is also said to be under assessment at the club, Da Gama adds: "Ndoro, I don't know. I will see now when I get to training huh?

"I don't know what has happened since because we were away to Polokwane."
